Linda, it’s NEVER too late for any holiday dress you get your dolls dressed up. She didn’t get Betsy in her 4th of July outfit, but she’s in it now!!!
Linda said: She wasn’t in the original picture I sent, since I couldn’t find anything for her that would fit in, but I thought this might do. It’s her Scissor Dress. She is also wearing some Jeanne Marie sandals, but you can only see one.
I hope this isn’t too late for a Fourth of July picture!
Love to you,
Linda
My Betsy McCall has that same exact dress, her scissor dress too! Mine has matching shoes, did yours have them?
I managed to get a sweet little outfit for Ten Ping listed on Ebay tonight. It was her original outfit that was never worn by her. She didn’t even remember I had it wrapped up in tissue paper, put in her box and up in the closet. Don’t anyone tell her where it went! :o)
Here it is, the outfit that came with her when I bought her in 2015. The outfit is very sweet, but since I sew for my dolls, I generally sell them… I waited a LONG time on this one, but one thing I know… I’m never planning to sell Ten Ping, so the outfit was listed.
UPDATE: It sold an hour after I listed it…
Now this is the doll my title refers to… the doll that keeps on giving…
This is a Corolle doll… they smell like Vanilla which is nice if you like Vanilla! She was nice and clean and she was the doll who only had the one sandal…
She’s almost the same size as 14″ Betsy McCall and the 13″ Dianna Effner Little Darlings…
They have teeny tiny sleep eyes and eyelashes!
So she came in this romper and I got out Janie to see if it fit her… It “almost” did. I mean it fit her but not well around the arms…
I think it would be cuter with a little bit wider legs across the hips.
I think if the tucks were let out of the front, it would work… it needs to be wider across the chest for the Little Darlings.
Now it also came with this fun hat… that looks P-R-E-T-T-Y cute on Janie… it’s made from burlap and I think it would make a great felt hat…
So I got the shoe for a pattern, the romper for a possible pattern and a hat for another possible pattern… 3 ways that doll kept giving to me.
Now I have to show you this wig shown on Janie. I found it on Ebay for a song, and the pictures weren’t on a doll head, but maybe on a ball or even just on a stick… I can’t remember… but the pictures DEFINITELY did NOT indicate that it was a zig zag part on top and the sides were chopped off way up high… It was a Monique doll wig, and I could tell it a synthetic mohair wig, my favorite brand and kind…
I think I may have seen a picture of the back and thought, “Oh, I can fix that… it just needs an even trim around the bottom!”
So I’m a bit stumped as to how to fix it… I’ve had on Janie for a while, trying to get inspiration on what to do… she just looks at me with a look, like, “Can’t you do something about this wig?”
I guess I’ll keep that hat on her head… it’s the best Janie has looked in the weeks since I put the wig on her head. Poor girl!
Thanks everyone,
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
